Theme: “God loves us»
Text: Matthew 6:28-34
28. And why worry about clothing? Consider how field lilies grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29. Yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30. If God thus clothes the grass of the field, which exists today and which tomorrow will be thrown into the oven, will he not with all the more reason clothe you, O you of little faith? 31. Therefore do not worry, and do not say: What shall we eat? what shall we drink? what will we be wearing? 32. For all these things the pagans seek. Your Heavenly Father knows you need it. 33. Seek first the kingdom and righteousness of God; and all these things will be given to you as well. 34. So don't worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will take care of itself. Remember:
The lure of gain pushes us to desire everything. We sometimes want to grant ourselves the universe and make it our own. Wanting to own everything and accumulate the greatest number of goods, it is this materialism that makes us beggars of the devil. Let us not forget that the world and its pleasures are under the control of Satan; he dangles them with the children of God in order to attract them towards him. Remember that God loves us; as such, He has full knowledge of our needs. According to His grace and His will, He always has the calendar rolled out to meet our needs in His time. Let us remain in prayer and wait patiently for our time; it will happen, even if it delays, it will eventually come to pass. God loves us, let's not worry about eating, drinking or clothing. All this is available in the divine attic. Let's be patient and give thanks if not let's make supplications to God for whatever is needed. Let's rather be concerned about eternal life because what would be the use of material goods if we have to lose eternal life? Let us prevent material goods from attracting us to the world and its pleasures. God loves us, let us be satisfied with his incomparable love. Excellent Friday and good start into the weekend.
