Theme: “God loves us»
Text: Malachi 1:1-6
1. Oracle, word of the Lord to Israel through Malachi. 2. I have loved you, saith the Lord. And you say: How have you loved us? Isn't Esau brother of Jacob? says the Lord. Yet I loved Jacob, 3. And I hated Esau, I made his mountains a loneliness, I delivered his inheritance to the jackals of the desert. 4. If Edom says: We are destroyed, We will raise up the ruins! Thus says the LORD of hosts: Let them build, I will overthrow, and they shall be called the land of wickedness, a people against whom the LORD is angry forever. 5. Your eyes will see it, and you will say, Great is the LORD Beyond the borders of Israel! 6. A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, where is the honor that is due to me? If I am master, where is the fear that people have of me? Says the LORD of hosts to you priests, who despise my name, and who say, Wherefore have we despised your name?
Let's remember:
The infidelities that saturate our lives make us feel guilty before the face of the One who loves us. The Eternal God has deployed all his Love to cover our errors but also to lay the foundations of our salvation. However, we trample on the bounty of God. We would rather damage our relationship with God than preserve it. Our choices are so dubious that one wonders if we are really Christians or cretins. But the love of God is stronger than it supports our misbehaviors. Let's not abuse God's patience because there is an end to everything. As legitimate sons, let us honor our father. As faithful servants, let us respect our master. If we continue to navigate the troubled waters of sin, the Eternal God will come and destroy all that we have built; and our efforts would have been for nothing. Let's avoid annoying God because his generosity is not a weakness. Let us take advantage of the time he gives us in order to improve it by accomplishing good works. God loves us, do not doubt this love. Let's not offend his love but let's apply ourselves to give the best of us in the service of God. Excellent Tuesday. Amen Alain Louz.-
