Theme : “ From the agony to the resurrection of Jesus Christ ”
Text : Luke 23:50-56
50. There was a counsellor, named Joseph, a good and just man, 51. who had not participated in the decision and acts of others; he was from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, and he was looking for the kingdom of God. 52. This man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. 53. He took him down from the cross, wrapped him in a shroud, and laid him in a rock-hewn sepulcher, where no one had yet been laid. 54. It was preparation day, and the Sabbath was about to begin. 55. The women who had come from Galilee with Jesus accompanied Joseph, saw the sepulcher and the manner in which the body of Jesus was laid there, 56. and, having returned, they prepared spices and incense. Then they rested on the Sabbath day, according to the law.
Let's remember:
Satan had invested the heart of Judas so that he would betray Jesus, God had prepared Joseph of Arimathea to extirpate his Son from the cross to put him far from defilement, from human corruption. Even in death, Jesus did not experience corruption since he was placed in a sepulcher that was never used. Another self-fulfilling prophecy "He was with the rich in his death, because he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth" (Isaiah 53:9) . Joseph was innocent before the atrocious decision of the crucifixion of Jesus. He had not participated in this macabre and expeditious justice. Jesus is dead but he continues to work in Hades to wrest the keys of death and come back to life with many people who died before him. If the disciples no longer appear in these accounts, the women are still there in the wheels, seeking to value Christ even after his death. Meanwhile, God is preparing the new foundations for a new world that will be built on the grace established by Christ and perpetuated by the Holy Spirit. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
