Theme : “ From the agony to the resurrection of Jesus Christ ”
Text : Luke 22:1-6
1. The Feast of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching. 2. The chief priests and scribes were looking for ways to put Jesus to death; because they feared the people. 3. Now Satan entered into Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve. 4. And Judas went and agreed with the chief priests and the chief guards, how to hand him over to them. 5. They were overjoyed, and they agreed to give him money. 6. After committing himself, he sought a favorable occasion to deliver Jesus to them without the knowledge of the crowd.
Let's remember:
Jesus' agony began when the Jews showed hatred towards him for no reason. She went on to see that the people did not want to repent and follow God's way. It was accentuated with the betrayal of Judas. Indeed, Judas had opened the door of his heart to Satan. He was so attracted to money that, for him, all opportunities were favorable for making money. This is how satan had prepared the heart of Judas to enter it when the time came. Jesus felt his agony set in seeing his disciple being manipulated by the devil. When Satan wanted to manipulate Peter, Jesus had quickly intervened to expel him so as not to lose two disciples, knowing that he would lose Judas. Jesus did not want to do as much for Judas because he was very advanced in this project. He let him do the will of God; but all this not without bitterness. He did not want to lose any of his disciples according to his priestly prayer in John 17. 12. Such psychological suffering is a source of agony. Excellent Monday. Amen
