Theme: "Family motivated for the service of the Lord".

Text: Mark 15:41

41. who followed him and served him when he was in Galilee, and many others who had gone up with him to Jerusalem.

Let us remember:

A family is motivated when it is involved, determined to achieve a goal set in advance. The service of the Lord is any activity done to promote the Gospel. Thus, a family motivated for the service of the Lord is one that spares no effort for the establishment of the kingdom and the justice of God in this world. It is a family that works with enthusiasm and dedication to make the work of God shine in all circumstances. Among these people, the Gospel of Mark tells us about the women who accompanied Jesus in the accomplishment of his mission. They came to the place of the skull, at Golgotha, and watched his crucifixion. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the Less and Joses, and Salome. These women had left everything or almost everything to follow Jesus everywhere. They served him when he was in Galilee. For a family to be motivated to serve the Lord, it must be free. Its members must be modest and attentive to the voice of God when he calls them. They must be obedient and receptive when God’s call sounds. Then there is the service aspect: in what area does God call them to serve? How does God expect them to serve? Often being in the service of God is the result of a miracle experienced like the women who had been healed of evil spirits and diseases: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had come out. Luke 8:3 tells us that Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, Susanna, and several others, assisted Jesus with their goods. Several other women had gone up with Jesus to Jerusalem to serve him. Let us put our family at the service of God. Excellent Monday. Amen.
