Cultivating the land means participating in the restoration of creation

Saturday June 8, 2024

Theme: “Cultivating the land means participating in the restoration of creation

Text: Ezekiel 36:34-35

34. the desolate land will be cultivated, while it was deserted in the eyes of all passers-by; 35. and they will say: This desolate land has become like the garden of Eden; and these ruined cities, deserted and dejected, are fortified and inhabited.

Let's remember:

The Lord God sees the way we walk before His face. Our misconduct is not hidden from him. He observes how we treat the land that hosts us. He also sees the contempt inflicted on his creatures but also on Himself. All these infidelities are the cause of the drought of the earth, its aridity and its devastation in different forms. This is the punishment that suits a stiff-necked people. But when we remember our conduct which was evil, and our deeds which were not good; we will loathe ourselves because of our iniquities and our abominations; God will restore us, he will restore our devastated lands. It is not because of us that God will act this way; it is because of his Holy Name, which we have profaned. God wanted to save the honor of his Holy Name, which we desecrate. To do this, the Lord God said that he would multiply the fruit of the trees and the produce of the fields, so that we would no longer have the shame of famine. If we maintain a good relationship with Yahweh, the desolate land will be cultivated, while it was deserted in the sight of all passers-by, and it will be said: this desolate land has become like a garden of Eden. A land restored by God yields wonderful harvests that bring joy to every person who cultivated it. Have a great Saturday. Amen
