Compassion in the Ministry of Jesus Christ

Saturday February 12, 2022

Theme : “ Compassion in the Ministry of Jesus Christ Text : Matthew 20:29-34

29. When they left Jericho, a large crowd followed Jesus. 30. And behold, two blind men, sitting by the wayside, heard that Jesus passed by, and cried, Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David! 31. The crowd rebuked them, to silence them; but they cried louder: Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David! 32. Jesus stopped, called them, and said, What do you want me to do to you? 33. They said unto him, Lord, let our eyes be opened. 34. Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they received their sight, and followed him.

Let's remember:

Several people passed by these blind people over the years, and even the servants of God. The opportunity to hear Jesus pass was too good for them to let slip. The blind people seized the opportunity to benefit from the compassion of Jesus because they knew that his compassions are not at an end. Thus, the compassion of Jesus is in search of the voices emitting a signal of distress. Even in the greatest noise, the compassion of Jesus is able to discern the ordinary cries of a jubilant crowd from the cries of a soul in distress. The compassion of Jesus is attracted by the sigh of a once desperate heart which does not want to miss the appointment of salvation. Next to the crowd's blind following, there are two blind people who refuse to follow but who yearn for recovery. Jesus' choice is without appeal, his compassion leads him towards the blind who want to receive divine healing. Let's stand out from the crowd that has no interest in being crossed by Jesus. Let's call out to Jesus with energy as if it would be the last time we see him. His compassion probes the distress of our heart and that of our soul. Jesus is still full of compassion to this day. Let's call him. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
