Compassion in the Ministry of Jesus Christ

Monday February 7, 2022

Theme : “ Compassion in the Ministry of Jesus Christ Text : Matthew 4:23-25

23. Jesus traveled throughout Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and infirmity among the people. 24. His fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought to him all those who suffered from diseases and pains of various kinds, the demoniacs, the lunatics, the paralytics; and he healed them. 25. A great crowd followed him from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

Let's remember:

The ministry of Jesus Christ was based on love because it was out of love for humanity that he had agreed to suffer martyrdom to save us. Likewise, during his journey, he sought his love to overcome illnesses and other challenges. Compassion draws its growth from love. A heart without love can have no compassion. Compassion is defined as the feeling that leads to pity others and to share their sufferings. Compassion is also sympathy. However, our Lord went beyond sharing the suffering; he annihilated them, he destroyed them. Jesus found the solution to the various sufferings of the peoples. If it's a sickness, an infirmity, an evil spirit; he healed him. Faced with cases of death, he raised the dead. In front of the hungry, he fed them. Before the pagans, he brought them back to salvation. Up to the cross, he pitied so much at the solicitation of one of the robbers crucified with him; only to the ignorance of those who had crucified him. Even today, Jesus remains compassionate; interceding for us at the right hand of the Father. It is out of compassion that he hears us. Excellent Monday. Amen Alain Louz.-
