Theme: “ Community of properties ”
Text: 1 John 3:16-19
16. We have known love, in that he gave his life for us; we too must give our lives for the brothers. 17. If someone possesses the goods of the world, and seeing his brother in need closes his bowels to him, how does the love of God dwell in him? 18. Little children, let us not love in words and with the tongue, but in deeds and with truth. 19. By this we shall know that we are of the truth, and we shall reassure our hearts before him;
Let's remember:
We recognize the children of God by their fruits, their behavior, their morality but above all by their faith. To be a Christian is to live by the example of Jesus, it is to accept to obey him and therefore to follow him in order to serve him. However, Jesus who is our model sacrificed his life for the salvation of humanity of which we are a part. He offered himself up to popular vengeance to free us from the prison of the devil. When Christ saw the weight of our guilt before God the Father, He agreed to pay the price for the redemption of mankind. We, too, learn to offer the best of ourselves to help those who suffer. Let's find lasting spiritual or material solutions that would relieve our neighbour. Let's not stop at advice, if possible, let's accompany our neighbor to the end. Let's put our properties at the disposal of others to eradicate indigence in any way. Let's not close the door to our neighbor who is in difficulty. Let's pool our efforts and create a front against selfishness and bigotry. Let's all be focused on the common good. Excellent Wednesday. Amen Alain Louz.-
