Theme: “Communion is also the sharing of goods“
Text: Acts 2:44-47
44. All who believed were in the same place, and they had everything in common. 45. They sold their properties and their goods, and they divided the product among all, according to the needs of each. 46. They were daily together assiduous in the temple, they broke bread in the houses, and took their food with gladness and singleness of heart, 47. praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added daily to the Church those who were being saved.
Let's remember:
When communion is well lived, it moves into a sacrifice; self-sacrifice, self-forgetfulness. This is when personal interest loses its meaning in favor of collective interest. Communion dissolves egoism and generates altruism. True self-giving is recognized when the donor does not disclose his acts of charity. Communion is best lived when we are in the same place. This explains why all who believed were in the same place, and they had everything in common. Staying at home becomes like not being part of the collective; it's like being too preoccupied with yourself. Staying in the same place to pray, sing, exhort each other… We cannot seek communion and remain egocentric and selfish. Communion favors the sharing of goods, regardless of value. We often say that those who sell their goods for the benefit of others are rich. No, it's not all that, it's just love and brotherhood that overflows and generates communion. The ingredients of communion are many and varied, such as a willing heart, a healthy and holy spirit, charity, humility and all the fruit of the Spirit. Excellent Tuesday. Amen Alain Louz.-
