Combating injustices and discrimination caused to people living with disabilities

Saturday 25 September 2021

Theme : " Combating injustices and discrimination caused to people living with disabilities " Text : Matthew 15: 30-31

30. Then a great crowd approached him, having with them the lame, the blind, the dumb, the crippled, and many other sick. They put them at his feet, and he healed them; 31. so that the crowd was in awe of seeing that the dumb spoke, that the crippled were healed, that the lame walked, that the blind saw; and she glorified the God of Israel.

Let us remember :

The crowd glorified God when they saw Jesus working without discrimination or injustice. Jews and pagans had the same consideration. Men and women enjoyed the same miracles, blessings, and teachings. Jesus Christ was no exception. The lame, the blind, the dumb, the crippled, and many other sick people were treated equally. Jesus could have classified people by order of arrival, by social class, by degree of faith, by seniority. But He was fair and impartial. In Jesus' time, women were often discriminated against, but Jesus did not give in to this custom. Seeing such a righteous man in whom there is no discrimination; the crowd was moved. Jesus did not ask for money from those he healed, otherwise many would never have had enough to pay because of their poverty. The crowd was in awe of seeing all these things; and she glorified the God of Israel. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
