Theme: “Building Unity and Peace in the Church and Society”
Text: Ephesians 4:1-3
1. I, the prisoner of the Lord, therefore, urge you to walk worthy of the vocation with which you have been called, 2. with all humility and gentleness, with patience, forbearing one another in love, 3. striving to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Let us remember:
Paul, who gives us this exhortation, presents himself as a prisoner in the Lord. Now, if a prisoner speaks of peace, it is because he knows something about it. Peace is a very important thing for a prisoner, even if he is in the Lord. In any prison, we need peace. Fortunately, in Jesus, there is an abundance of peace for those who bear his yoke, which is a prison. Let us walk in a manner worthy of the vocation that has been addressed to us. If we are worthy of the vocation received, unity and peace will flow freely from the Church to society. The vocation of God comes with humility, gentleness, patience, love, peace in short all the fruit of the Spirit. He who has received the vocation to serve God; walks in gentleness like the one who has eggs in his hands. He has the patience of a person waiting to take a flight. We must change our lives after having received the vocation to serve God. Humility, gentleness, patience, love go hand in hand with unity and peace. The fruit of the Spirit is a wonderful gift that accompanies the new birth. It is a precious gift from God to help us build unity and peace in the Church and society. Excellent Saturday. Amen.
