Theme: “Being in Abundant Love” Text: Deuteronomy 7:6-8
6 You are a people consecrated to Yahweh your God. He chose you to be his own people among all the peoples of the earth. 7 If Yahweh is attached to you and has chosen you, it is not because you are more numerous than the other peoples, on the contrary you are the least of all the peoples. 8 But it is because Yahweh loves you, because he wanted to keep the promise he had made to your fathers. So Yahweh brought you out with his mighty hand, he freed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt.
Let's remember:
The most abundant love is that which is in the heart of God. God is a God of love, love draws its source from him because he himself is love. Whenever we happen to lose the bearings of love, let's go back to the sources of love that never dry up. The love of God calls us, he comes to seek us in our error. He takes us and leads us to the Father. God's abundant love is very patient, waiting for us when we have whims. This love went to the Israeli people in their painful torment of slavery in Egypt. The love of God hears the cries of distress of a people exhausted and tired of suffering the atrocities of their executioner. Israel became God's choice without merit. We too are unworthy. Everyone becomes God's choice because of this love that is abundant. Despite our infidelities, the love of God remained abundant. Even his anger does not degrade his love, on the contrary it is God's love that finds us even when we deserve his rejection. Just because we are strong, mighty, weak, small, zealous, upright, kind, rich or otherwise, does not mean that God loves us with abundant love. God loves us without any criteria. How not to show abundant love when one is a people consecrated to Yahweh, one is chosen to be his people among all the peoples of the earth? Excellent Friday and good start into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
