Theme : " Attachment to the current world places us in a state of false security "
Text : Luke 21:33-36
33. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. 34. Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be weighed down with surfeiting and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you unexpectedly; 35. For he shall come as a snare upon all those who dwell upon the face of all the earth. 36. Watch therefore and pray at all times, that you may have the strength to escape all these things which will happen, and to appear standing before the Son of man.
Let's remember:
When a fish is in the water, it feels safe until suddenly it finds itself in a net it didn't see coming. It is like a bird that ends up in the bird catcher's net. Both the fish and the bird felt safe; but it was only a false security. So it is with people who lack neither food nor drink on their tables. They have apparent food security and believe that this is enough to live happily without fear. They think they have conquered the famine, and therefore poverty would no longer surprise them. In this apparent false security, we can forget God when it is the essence of life. By settling into this comfort zone, one will not see the occurrence of dangers; even when the lights change from green to orange and from orange to red, one can be indiscriminate and not see the danger coming. Let's get out of our comfort zone and expose ourselves to God so that he takes care of supplying us at all times. Let us be dependent on God in order to guarantee our security in all directions.
