Theme : " Aspire to the perfect stature of Christ "
Text : 1 Kings 3: 12-15
12. Behold, I will do according to your word. I will give you a wise and understanding heart, so that there will be no one before you and no one will ever be seen like you. 13. Also, that which thou hast not asked for, I will give unto thee riches and glory, so that in all thy life there shall be no king like thine own. 14. And if you walk in my ways, keeping my laws and my commandments, as David your father did, I will prolong your days. 15. Solomon awoke. And here is the dream. Solomon returned to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. He offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants.
Let us remember :
Aspiring to the perfect stature of Christ begins with yearning for wisdom and understanding from God. By desiring them deeply, Solomon was rewarded by God; even getting what he didn't ask for. God goes to the root of our thoughts to analyze the motivation for our requests. He searches our hearts and kidneys to determine the suitability of our needs; it does not take long to find the ambition that drives us. This is why, let us be sincere in our outburst of heart so that God will reward us. Certain desires of our hearts are expressed in dreams, in the depth of our sleep. Let's go to bed with pure and sincere thoughts; without corruption so that purity may follow even our dreams and aspirations. If we aspire to the wisdom which would help to better lead the people of God, then we cross the road of Jesus who was anointed with wisdom to better carry out the mission of redeeming the world. Let us offer sacrifices to God in recognition of his blessings; knowing that the best sacrifice remains our heart. Excellent Friday and good entry into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
